Waxing/ Sugaring

Waxing

What is waxing?

Waxing is the process of removing unwanted hair by applying warm or cold depilatory wax to it with a spatula or roller, allowing it to set and then pulling it off. This hair removal method can be painful.

How is hygiene maintained?

Hygiene is extremely important to us. We use spatulas to apply wax to your skin only once (no double dipping). We always work with gloves on. Anything that comes into contact with a client's skin is immediately disposed of. So, everything that touches you is clean.

How often can I get waxed?

You can get waxed when the hairs are approximately 2-5 mm long. Most of our clients return every 4 to 6 weeks after their last appointment, but this depends on your personal preference and hair growth rate.

Does waxing hurt?

Yes, it’s not painless, but it’s usually not as bad as you might expect. There are some uncomfortable moments when the wax is pulled off, but the overall experience is manageable.

The advantage of waxing is that it removes hairs along with the root. After an average of three to eight weeks, the hairs grow back, but they are softer and thinner than before.

Sugaring

What is body sugaring?

Body sugaring is a hair removal method that has been around for over 4000 years. The hair on the skin is rubbed with a sugar paste. The hardened paste is then removed from the skin, leaving the hairs in the paste. This method is very similar to waxing, but is less painful because the sugar paste does not stick to the skin.

It is suitable for all skin types, even those with eczema or dry psoriasis can benefit from sugaring. The treatment is so gentle that it is possible to go over the same area multiple times.

Preparation for sugaring

Sugaring long hairs can be uncomfortable, so it might be a good idea to trim the hairs with a body trimmer to about 5 mm or slightly longer. The evening before your sugaring appointment, it's beneficial to use a scrub on the areas to be sugared. However, do not use body lotion!

Aftercare instructions

For the first 24 hours after the treatment:

  • Avoid sun exposure or tanning beds
  • Do not use irritating products on the treated areas, such as perfumed soaps, deodorants or products with chemical ingredients
  • It's best to avoid showering immediately after sugaring and refrain from intense exercise

Which is better: waxing or sugaring?

What are the differences between hair removal with film wax and sugaring?

Sugaring is a gentle and safe method for effectively removing unwanted hair. It is especially recommended for extra sensitive skin. Sugaring only adheres to the hairs, whereas film wax tends to stick more to the skin.
